- Q: How do I begin the online registration process?
- A: You must first establish an online account.

- A: Before registering for any programs or activities online, you must establish an online registration account and receive a Customer ID and Password.
This is how you create an online registration account:
1) Click on the "My Account" button.
2) Fill out the form for New Account Request completely, including birth date and click submit. Please submit your request only once.
Please Note: If you are registering a child for a program, please use your own information when filling out the online registration account request form, NOT the information of the child you wish to register for an activity. Once you have an online registration account, you will have the opportunity to add family members.
3) Your account will be automatically approved. You will also receive an email confirming the successful entry of your account. This email is normally sent to you within 24 hours of requesting an online registration account. Be sure to keep a record of your password. Write down your password as you will need it to register online in the future.
- Q: How do I register online for an activity?
- A: 1) Click the "Register Now" button on the registration home page.
2) Select the activity that you would like to enroll in. Clicking the underlined activity name will show you a detailed activity description.
3) Click on the "Add to My Cart" button if you wish to register for the activity.
4) Next, login to your online Registration Account by entering your Customer ID and Password. Proceed to your Checkout Shopping Cart by clicking the Continue button. From this screen you empty or remove activities from your cart, view more activities and add them to your cart, or update your cart information.
Important: If more than one family member will be attending the activity, change the quantity registering for the activity and then click on the Update Cart button.
5) Confirm your activity name, date and time, enrollee and price.
6) Click "Continue" to proceed with payment. You will be prompted that you are entering a secure site. Click "Yes". Enter your credit card information on the Payment Information Page. Click "Continue". This system accepts Visa, Mastercard and American Express.
Please Note: The name and address must match those that are on file with your credit company. If the address shown is not your credit card billing address, click on the "My Account" button and change your residential address to match your credit card billing address.
7) Print your receipt for the online registration. Once your payment has been approved, your receipt will display. Please print a copy of your receipt for your records.
- Q: How many accounts should each family have?
- A: We recommend that each family establish one account. Create the account in the name of a Head of Household and then add all family member names to the account after it is established (see next question).
- Q: Can I view activities without registering?
- A: You can always browse through the activities without registering. Click "Register Now" button and look at all the activities that are offered.
- Q: What do I do if I forget my password?
- A: From the My Account program, enter your Login name. Then check the ?Forgot your Password? box and click continue. You will advance to the custom security question you created when establishing your account. If, after reviewing your custom security question you do not recall your password, or if your password is not valid, please contact our office during normal business hours and a member of our staff will assist you.
- Q: What happens if I try to register for an activity that is full?
- A: Your name will be placed on a waiting list to be contacted in the event that a space in that class/activity opens up or additional classes are added. If you do not want to be placed on the waiting list, click the "remove" button that appears on the screen. If a space opens for the class, you will be contacted immediately. If we are unable to contact you within 24 hours, your space will be given to the next customer on the wait list.
- Q: Can I view my transaction history and print out my past receipts online?
- A: Yes, from the date on which your online account is established. The "My Account" feature allows you to view a detailed list of your past transactions. Just login, click the "My Account" button, and select the program(s) providing transaction history.
- Q: How can I view a schedule of my family's upcoming scheduled activities?
- A: The My Account feature allows you to view a weekly schedule of your family?s upcoming scheduled activities. Just login, click on the My Account button, and then click on Family Schedule. A weekly schedule will display all of the activities your family has been enrolled in and allow you to click on the activity for more information, such as the facility location where the activity is being held.
- Q: Do I pay a convenience fee when registering online?
- A: Yes, there is a small convenience fee typical of any internet sales. The fee is a percentage of the total receipt amount.
- Q: Am I a City-Resident or Non-Resident?
- A: Franklin city-residents, through city property taxes, contribute substantially to support facilities and programs offered by the Franklin Parks and Recreation Department. Non-residents are commonly asked to pay an additional amount so they contribute equally with those city residents. We appreciate all non-residents understanding this situation regarding finances. A city-resident is anyone who lives within the proper city limits of Franklin or owns property within the city limits.
- Q: What is the mission of the Franklin Parks and Recreation Department?
- A: The mission of the Franklin Parks and Recreation Department is to provide the opportunity for all community residents to enjoy safe, affordable and well maintained recreational facilities and a variety of quality leisure activities. To also encourage the improvement of the quality of life through health, fitness, relaxation, enjoyment, cultural enrichment, as well as providing opportunities for community involvement.
- Q: What are the office hours of the Parks and Recreation Department?

- Q: How do I reserve a shelter house?
- A: Reservations and rentals for any facility operated by the Franklin Parks and Recreation Department can be made at the Parks Administrative Office located in the Cultural Arts & Recreation Center, 396 Branigin Boulevard. All rental and reservations fees must be paid at the time the rental/reservation is booked.
- Q: Do you offer child care options while I am taking a class or working out in the fitness room?
- A: We currently offer childcare from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturdays, September through May. Childcare is available for infants through kids age 10, in our preschool enrichment room. Parents must remain in the Cultural Arts & Recreation Center. Cost is $1.50 per hour/per child, with a $1.50 minimum and $.75 every half-hour after the first hour. These days & hours are subject to change throughout the year as programs and participation fluctuates. Please register at the CARC front desk. Parents/guardians are required to leave their CARC membership card and/or driver?s license with the childcare staff for security purposes. It will be returned when you pick up your child. Parents/guardians will be responsible for all diaper changes that may be necessary.
- Q: Do you have a fitness facility?
- A: Fitness Center Membership
We have a variety of cardiovascular equipment, Pro-Power weight lifting equipment and free weights in our Fitness Center. Individual memberships are available for $60/resident or $80/non-resident. You must be at least 14 years of age to qualify for a fitness center membership. Individuals under 18 must have a consent form signed by a parent/guardian. Membership is valid for one-year. A valid facility membership is needed to purchase a fitness center membership. No children under 14 will be allowed in the fitness center.
- Q: Do you have open racquetball times?
- A: The racquetball court located at the Cultural Arts & Recreation Center can be reserved per hour. We allow 24-hour advance rental on the racquetball court.
- Q: Do you have an outdoor pool?
- A: Franklin Memorial Pool is located adjacent to the Cultural Arts & Recreation Center at the corner of South Street and Branigin Blvd. It offers an Olympic-sized pool with diving well, 160-foot water slide, two-depth tot pool area, water basketball, concession stand and sun decks. Franklin Memorial Pool offers the entire family lots of fun and relaxation. Come cool off at the Franklin Memorial Pool this summer! Open May 23 through Labor Day.
- Q: Is there a Senior Center in Franklin?
- A: The Franklin Senior Center offers 5,000 sq. ft. of space for senior programs and activities offered by the Parks and Recreation Department. The facility amenities include a dining room, kitchen, arts & crafts area, large activity room, stage, wooden dance floor and offices of the Senior Center staff. The Senior Center offers numerous programs & services to the senior community including transportation service to and from the Senior Center, meal service provided by the Area Council on Aging and daily refreshments for members including coffee & snacks. - Q: How can I register if I don't want to register online?

#1 Walk-In Registration You may still register for programs in person at: Franklin Cultural Arts & Recreation Center 396 Branigin Blvd.
#2 Mail-In Registration Use the registration form in the brochure or download a registration form online and send to: Franklin Parks & Recreation Department C/O Program Registration 396 Branigin Blvd. Franklin, IN 46131 Your registration form and payment must be received before the registration deadline.
#3 ON-LINE Registration You can now register ONLINE with your credit or debit card at www.franklinparks.org A registration confirmation & receipt will be sent to you after you have registered for a program!
Registration fees must be paid at the time of registration by check, cash, debit or credit card. ON-LINE registration requires a debit or credit card to enroll. Checks should be made payable to Franklin Parks and Recreation Department.

- Q: How can I report vandalism in my neighborhood park?
- A: The Park Neighbors and Friends Patrol program is designed to keep a watchful eye for vandalism in our parks. If you see someone defacing park property, please help us by calling the Parks & Recreation Administrative Office at 736-3689.
